Tracking your favorite shows on SideReel just got even easier. We are pleased to introduce our latest site improvement, a redesigned personal show Tracker! Not only does the Tracker have an updated visual look, but it also has some awesome new features. These include the ability to sort your tracked shows, find out when your series usually air on live television, and see stats about how many total shows you’re tracking and watching.
Over the past few weeks SideReel’s engineering and dev operations teams have been diligently working to transition SideReel’s service to new web servers. This is due to the recent sale of SideReel by Rovi to All Media Network, LLC. All Media Network, LLC was created by SideReel’s original founders and investors, which were involved with the company prior to Rovi’s acquisition of SideReel in 2011. All Media Network also includes the popular web properties AllMusic.com, AllMovie.com, AllGame.com and Celebified.com.
The move to new web servers has caused some periods of downtime for the SideReel.com service. We are working hard to reduce the number of maintenance periods during which the site is down and providing quality service to you 24 hours a day. We are already seeing faster response times on the site as a result of moving our web servers, which means you should see pages load faster.
One of the ongoing issues we’ve seen since the web server transition is some users have systems which have DNS cached our old web server location. If you are seeing the SideReel maintenance page, try visiting http://v4.sidereel.com instead. If you can see that site, then your issue is a DNS one. To clear your DNS, we recommend visiting this web address and following the instructions.
We are excited about the new/old ownership of SideReel. We feel this transition will ultimately be better for users, as it will allow us to focus on building products that are core to the SideReel brand without being obligated to build products for a larger corporation. We have exciting plans in the near future for building new and improved products for both mobile and desktop.

Exciting news, SideReelers.
We are happy to announce that at the end of last month, we launched a responsive version of SideReel for viewing on all of your mobile devices! The site has a new, modern look and feel, including a responsive design using Groundwork, an open source CSS framework that was developed in-house. Learn more about Groundwork!
The new mobile site is offering basic SideReel functionality to start, but we are already working on adding additional features and will continue to do so regularly.
Please check it out and as always, we are eager to hear your feedback.
Big news! After about two and a half years as a part of Rovi Corporation, SideReel is on the move once more. As of August 15th, SideReel has left Rovi and joined All Media Network, a new company established by SideReel leadership in partnership with Ackrell Capital. Joining SideReel at All Media Network are its sister site, Celebified.com as well as 3 other Rovi Consumer Web properties: AllMovie, AllMusic and AllGame.
We’re all really excited about this next phase and feel confident that it will enable us to bring you all even better products! If you haven’t yet checked out any of the other All Media sites, we encourage you to do so. We know that as entertainment fans, you’ll also love them as much as you love us! SideReel will also be working more closely with our other sister sites moving forward, beginning with SideReel movie picks transitioning over to AllMovie, which will be occurring shortly.
As always, we want to thank you all for being incredibly loyal users. Without your constant support and feedback, SideReel would not be where it is today.
You can “Like” All Media Network on Facebook here.
Hey iOS users, we’ve recently updated the SideReel app (for iPhone AND iPad), which now contains a frequently requested new feature as well as stability fixes. If you have not recently updated, we highly recommend that you do so now!
With this new release, the app now offers two views of your Tracker. You can still view all shows that you are tracking as before, but you also now have to ability to view only shows with unwatched episodes. Additionally, there is a bubble notification on the Tracker button which displays your total number of shows with unwatched episodes. Especially for users who track many shows, this new Tracker view should make for an easier, better, more efficient mobile experience.
This release also includes a fix for UK users that should solve stability issues that many of you have reported.
As always, we welcome your feedback! Update your app here and if you like the new changes, please feel free to leave us a review!
Those of you that receive our daily calendar emails might have noticed that they’ve been looking a little different recently (Don’t receive our emails and want them? Change your email preferences here to get them. We promise – they are quite useful!).
We’ve recently redone our daily calendar emails with a more modern, colorful look. As you can see, your emails now include show posters for all of the shows in the “Today” category. Furthermore, the new email has a responsive layout, meaning that it will scale appropriately to fit any screen size. Here is a portion of the same email from above as viewed on an iPhone 5.
If you’d like to learn more about the CSS framework used to create this email – which is free and open-source, visit groundwork.sidereel.com/.
As always, we are eager to hear your feedback. Let us know what you think about the new email in the comments!
Just like in the Nielsen ratings, NBC’s Revolution is losing steam on SideReel. After topping out with an 11% share of the SideReel NBC audience following the April 8th airing of The Song Remains the Same, Revolution has shown a marked decline over the past two weeks, losing a combined 33% of its audience. Will you be tuning in, or will it be much of the same tonight, as the show creeps closer to its season finale on May 20?
