Our SideReel community members have been pretty busy reviewing shows lately, so we wanted to make sure the most helpful opinions are being shown first—and we realized that no one is more qualified to make that decision than YOU! That’s why we’re psyched to introduce our new “Thumbs Up” feature! If you see a review that you think captures the essence of why someone should (or shouldn’t bother!) watching a show, give it your seal of approval by giving it a thumbs up. The reviews with the most up-votes will display first on the Reviews page and will also appear on the main show page!
And we didn’t stop at reviews—we also added this feature to SideReel Lists!
Remember, the more quality reviews and lists you create, the more love you’ll get from other community members! We rely on you to make sure the best stuff on SideReel gets seen, so go ahead, give your favorites a thumbs up!
You’ve been rating and reviewing up a storm since we introduced those features earlier this year, so we hope you love the enhancements we’ve just added to them. You can now keep track of all of your show ratings and reviews right from your profile page!
Looking for shows you’ve rated 3 1/2 stars and above? Use the slider to limit or expand your view. Changed your mind on a series since you wrote your review? Go ahead and edit it without leaving the page.
Wondering what other SideReel Community Members think? Head over to anyone’s profile page for their opinions—you might even get inspired to track something they recommend!
We’re always looking for ways to give you your ideal SideReel experience, so don’t hesitate to tell us what you think about these (and any other) features here in the comments, or on our Facebook, Twitter, and support pages.
Your recommendations are based on how you interact with SideReel—so the more you track and rate shows, the more accurate our suggestions can be! Already have an opinion on something we think you might like? Track or rate it and refresh the page to get a whole new batch of shows!
We hope you love everything these new features have to offer, and we’re always looking for your feedback. Let us know what you think about SideReel Recommendations on our Facebook, Twitter, and support pages, or sound off right here in the comments.
We know not all of your favorite series fit in one category. Some are all-time favorites, some are trendy and new, and hey, we know some are really just “shows I need to get around to watching… someday.” With that in mind, we’re beyond excited to announce SideReel’s new Lists feature!
Keep yourself organized, group shows together by theme, or make a TV mix for your friend; there are tons of ways to use SideReel Lists. Want to keep your “Guilty Pleasures to Marathon on Rainy Days” list to yourself? Make it private with one click of the mouse. Find a new show you want to add to a list you made last week? Go right ahead—and hey, earn some awesome new badges while you’re at it. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Looking for a way to let the world know why they should check out your favorite show? Make your voice heard with our new Review feature! Every show on SideReel now has a Review tab—and you get to be the critic! It couldn’t be easier: just assign a star rating and write as much (or as little) as you want.
Writing reviews and dissertations is also a great way to earn more SideReel badges. We have a whole new set available for our reviewers, and we can’t wait to award them!
Looking for something new to watch? Check out our totally redesigned genre pages! We’ve completely reimagined our discovery pages to include new categories, sub-categories, and dynamic suggestions! We’ve even integrated your star ratings of shows with our new pages, so that the Top 10 lists in each genre come from yours and other ‘Reelers top choices! After all, who better to make recommendations than TV power watchers?
Speaking of star ratings, we’re also thrilled to introduce a new set of badges for those who are taking the time to rate shows! Whether you’re a Rating Newbie, are ready to step up on to the podium as a Rating Champ, or have graduated up to the level of TV Appraiser, we want to reward you for making a difference to our site. Thanks for continuing to be awesome!
